How Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Registration helps My Company?

  • Low-Interest rate – All banks and other financial institutions identify MSMEs and have formed different schemes for them. Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) get the privilege of lesser interest rate on business loans.
  • Reduction in Trademark Government Fees – The government has agreed reduction in government charges of the trademark to MSME registered organisations, the fee will be INR 4500/- for small enterprises. The trademark fee for organisations other than MSMEs is INR 9000/-.

  • Tender Entitlement – There is a certain quota reserved for MSME Registered organisations in government tender allocation.
  • No delayed payment – If a Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) organisation has made any sale then the buyer has to pay to the MSME organisations within the 45 days since the date of delivery of product or services.
  • Easy loan in 59 minutes – Recently, the government has declared that all MSMEs having MSME Registration and GST registration will be approved easy up to INR 5 crores within 59 minutes.

        What is the definition of the MSME?

        The Government of India has enacted the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (MSMED) Act, 2006 in terms of which the definition of micro, small and medium enterprises is as under:

        • Enterprises engaged in the manufacture or production, processing or preservation of goods as specified below:
        • A micro enterprise is an enterprise where investment in plant and machinery does not exceed Rs. 25 lakh;
        • A small enterprise is an enterprise where the investment in plant and machinery is more than Rs. 25 lakh but does not exceed Rs. 5 crore;
        • A medium enterprise is an enterprise where the investment in plant and machinery is more than Rs.5 crore but does not exceed Rs.10 crore. In case of the above enterprises, investment in plant and machinery is the original cost excluding land and building and the items specified by the Ministry of Small Scale Industries.
        • Enterprises engaged in providing or rendering of services and whose investment in equipment (original cost excluding land and building and furniture, fittings and other items not directly related to the service rendered or as may be notified under the MSMED Act, 2006 are specified below.
        • A micro enterprise is an enterprise where the investment in equipment does not exceed Rs. 10 lakh;
        • A small enterprise is an enterprise where the investment in equipment is more than Rs.10 lakh but does not exceed Rs. 2 crore;
        • A medium enterprise is an enterprise where the investment in equipment is more than Rs. 2 crore but does not exceed Rs. 5 crore.

        What is the support available for Skill Development?

        The Ministry conducts various types of training programme through its various organizations for self employment as well as wage employment. The training programmes are primarily focused to promote self employment in the country. Thus all type of programmes have input which provide necessary information and skills to a trainee to enable him to establish his own micro or a small enterprises.
